Weather, Weather, Everywhere

What's up with Mother Nature? This has been a scary winter so far - all over the country. Sometimes I'm so pooped from shovelling and cleaning off the car I'm too tired to do much reading.

Only read 8 books in January - not a bad number but would have liked to reach at least 10. We'll see what February brings.

Started The Challenges

It's the 13th of January and so far have 3 challenge books under my belt.

Don't think I can call this a roaring start, but it's a beginning!

You Gotta Be Upbeat & Don't Procrastinate!

If I wasn't a glass-half-full kind of girl, I'd be breaking crockery right now. I just found out the site that hosted my website has vanished. It doesn't matter all that much but I did lose an already-done reading list I'd posted there. I originally lost all that information in August 2008 when my computer crashed but the info at my website was a welcome back-up source.

I procrastinated, I put off transferring a copy of the information to another site, or saving it some how/some way. Let it be known that this is the last time I put off finishing a job.

I have a hand-written notebook with those notes, however because I was using this fancy technology I wasn't responsible enough to do hand notes after 2002 so I completely lost about 8+ years' worth of book/author/rating information. The information can be rebuilt to a small degree but it is heartbreaking to lose everything like this.

Not the end of the world, of course, but so frustrating and I only have myself to blame.

New Year!

Happy new year to everyone. I've been looking forward to 2011 for many reasons: to continue on program, to read more books in '11 than in 2010, to continue to stay in touch with friends and not bail-out when I don't feel like going out. And a variety of other reasons.

It's 01/01/11 but I haven't finished a book yet - talk about pressure. ♥

I'm starting the year with an old classic, Woodiwiss' THE WOLF AND THE DOVE - it's part of one of my challenges - but I won't have much chance to read today as I'll be leaving in an hour to spend the day with a friend. Chinese lunch (my last my-bad meal for a very long time) then back to her apartment to watch videos. Watched "The Expendables" (I♥JasonStatham) and "Hunt To Kill" at a party last night - today it'll probably be chick-flicks. Call me shallow but give me a sweaty hunk with a big, noisy gun.
